Without Vision, The People…

Updated: May 30, 2023

Very likely, you are able to complete the title of this post. But why, you ask? Why do the people perish without vision?

I've recently been reading The Vision-Driven Leader by Michael Hyatt. (Great book, if you haven't gotten it yet!) From the onset, Hyatt declares, "Vision is everything."

Now maybe you're like me, and your life has been marked by failures and mistakes. Good intentions and lofty dreams were the norm in my younger days! With minimal vision, and zero clarity, I lacked what was necessary to avoid some pretty major mistakes.

In this book, Hyatt describes six pitfalls leaders fall into without a clear vision. See if anything from this list rings true in your experience.

Leaders without a vision are unprepared for the future; miss opportunities; have scattered priorities; suffer strategic misteps; waste time, money, and talent; and prematurely exit before they see results (that's a polite way to say they quit!).

That's quite a list to describe the type of perishing people suffer from lack of vision!

I believe leaders are driven to look into the future, see problems solved, and pave the way for others to follow. I believe there are leaders all around us who haven't been intentionally taught how to find clarity for their vision! Without harnessing this power, talents are being wasted that should be making a positive impact!

Are you a leader? Do you have clarity for your vision or are you just floundering? Growth is essential. If you find yourself in a lull, it's okay. Begin again, as there is no time to waste! If you are actively pursuing your vision and intentionally growing, find someone who can also learn with you!

Deep inside, everyone is a leader. Never underestimate who you are. I love the quote by George Elliot: "It's never too late to be what you might have been."

Lead on. The world needs you.
